Jewellery Designed With Intention
Creating truly personal jewellery is not about choosing from a display. It begins with a considered conversation and unfolds through a structured, collaborative process.
Whether designing an engagement ring, wedding ring, celebration piece, or reimagining an heirloom, the experience is guided, deliberate, and entirely centred on you.
My approach follows four clear stages:
Inspire. Design. Create. Cherish.
Inspire
Every commission begins with a private consultation.
Here, we explore ideas, proportions, stones, and possibilities. Some clients arrive with a clear vision; others begin with only a feeling. For those seeking inspiration, I present a carefully curated mood board of exclusive past designs, refined 3D concepts, and wearable wax prototypes.
Each path is equally welcome.
Together, we shape a considered design brief — balancing aesthetics, craftsmanship, and investment with clarity and care.
Design
This is where your ideas become tangible.
I develop multiple 3D design concepts based on our discussions, allowing you to explore different interpretations before making a decision. Using advanced 3D modelling and printing, you can see, refine, and even wear a prototype of your piece before it is crafted.
This stage removes uncertainty.
Every proportion, angle, and setting can be assessed calmly and adjusted precisely.
Confidence replaces guesswork.
Create
Once your design and stone selection are finalised, your jewellery is handcrafted in my Hatton Garden workshop.
Traditional bench skills remain at the heart of the process — shaping metal by hand, setting stones with precision, and meticulously finishing every detail.
Each stage is personally overseen to ensure the final piece reflects the standards established at the beginning.
Cherish
The final reveal is more than a presentation.
It is the moment when design, craftsmanship, and personal meaning converge. A piece created exclusively for you — to be worn, lived with, and ultimately passed on.
Jewellery should endure both physically and emotionally.
That is always the intention.
Crafting love stories in each bespoke piece
Don't just take my word for it—hear from my happy clients!
David was an amazing specialist to guide me through my ring design and creation. His knowledge, passion and care for his clients was evident throughout and I’m really grateful to have been through this experience with him on such an important decision in my life. Thanks David. by Henry S
I was looking to get a custom engagement ring made with an heirloom diamond, and we chose David after discussing our ideas with several UK-based jewellers. He was a great communicator, and we loved the whole process of working with him. He made two 3D-printed designs to try on, which was helpful. We are so thrilled with the end result, which is really a work of art! We would recommend David to all of our family and friends, and we hope to work with him again soon for our wedding ring design
David is an experienced jeweler that very quickly understands your vision and is pro-active in bringing it to life using his wax demos.
He then works patiently (taking the time to meet) and effectively with you - for example, producing two versions for me, one to my description and a second to how he would recommend it with minor suggestions as an expert.
I of course found his version to be far better! He is very knowledgeable on the industry and I enjoyed the process of working with him. This will be the first of many projects with David, I have no doubt, and would highly recommend him.
My Approach to Jewellery Making
“Every piece begins with listening. My role is not simply to create jewellery, but to guide you through a considered design process — ensuring the final piece reflects your story with clarity, craftsmanship, and care.”

Frequently Asked Questions About the Design Process
How does your design process differ from other jewellers?
My process is structured yet collaborative. Rather than presenting a single finished concept, I develop multiple 3D design options informed by our discussions. You can refine proportions, details, and stone placement before anything is crafted — ensuring clarity before commitment.
Will I be able to see my jewellery before it is made?
Yes. Using advanced 3D modelling and wearable wax prototypes, you can see and even try on a physical representation of your design. This stage removes uncertainty, allowing adjustments to be made calmly and precisely.
What if I am unsure about the design direction?
That is completely normal. Many clients start with only a feeling or a reference image. Through consultation and curated inspiration, we refine ideas step by step until a clear design direction emerges.
How many design options will I receive?
I typically develop six design concepts to explore different interpretations of your brief. This allows you to compare variations and make confident decisions rather than committing to a single proposal
How long does the design stage usually take?
The design and refinement stage typically unfolds over several weeks, depending on the complexity of the commission. The emphasis is always on precision and clarity rather than speed.
At what stage do I commit to the final piece?
Commitment comes only once the design, proportions, and stone selection are agreed. The 3D and prototype stages ensure that you move forward with complete confidence.
